島田紳助さんが「Ｍ－１グランプリ」を始めた動機は有望な若手の発掘ではなかった。

才能のない若手にそれを体感させてお笑い界から引退させる為だ、と何度も語っている。

人間には向き・不向きがある。あって当然だ。自分に向いている事をとことんすると、これが楽しいんだな。
